KCS, Partner to Develop Texas Logistics Park

With 2.4 million square feet of building capacity for warehousing and distribution, the new logistics park offers a dual-feed electrical system with redundant power, and a heavy-haul road network with direct access to Highway 78 and the interstate system, air and seaports, and KCS’ intermodal terminal.

The Wylie Intermodal Terminal provides track capacity of 19,000 feet and annual lift capacity of 342,000, according to the railroad. It also has 1,800-wheeled parking spaces, 300 container stack spots, an automated gate system, optical character recognition and biometric driver identification, and enhanced traffic signals and specific turn lanes.

“KCS is pleased to enter into this agreement with NorthPoint Development,” said KCS Vice President Chemical and Energy Products Ginger Adamiak, who also heads the industrial development team. She noted that Wylie, Texas, offers a “double free port exemption.”

Added NorthPoint Development President/Founding Partner Chad Meyer: “We are extremely bullish on the opportunities that the Wylie Logistics Park offers.”
